Three Vital Questions

1. WHO AM I ?

a. Child of God
b. Child of Adam
c. Both
d. Neither
e. Other

Nowhere in scripture is God said to be the father of the human race. It is interesting to note that Adam, being a direct creation of God, is said to be a “son of God” (Luke 3:38) but his descendants are considered to be children of Adam. Adam was created in innocence but fell into sin and became separated from God. After he fell into sin, Adam begat children who had a sin nature just as he did. The sin nature that each of us have, entered the human race through Adam.

“…By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin….” (Rom. 5:12)
The entire human race became a race of sinners when Adam, the father of the race, sinned.

“…By one man’s disobedience many were made sinners…” (Rom. 5:19)

Therefore, by natural birth we are born into Adam’s fallen family and are children of Adam. A second birth is necessary if one is to be born into God’s family and to become a child of God:

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but by his mercyhe saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the holy Ghost…” (Titus 3:5)

Are you a child of God? You can be by trusting the Savior.

2. WHY DO I EXIST?

a. Man is just an accident
b. Man was created for a purpose

Man was placed on the earth to have dominion over it. (Gen 1:26 & 28) But instead of being the master of creation, man today struggles with the earth for survival because of Adam’s sin. This struggle continues until the earth finally reclaims his body at death. (Rom. 8:22 & 23) But God’s desire is that every man, woman and child be able to loveHim and enjoyHim forever. Our all knowing, all powerful, loving, sovereign, holy and just God has provided a means to reconcile fallen man (you and I) back to Himself. In the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, God Himself settled the account and took sin out of the way. Christ defeated sin and death at Calvary, that you might be able to have eternal life.

“For He [the Father in Heaven] hath made Him [the Lord Jesus Christ] to be sin for us, who knew no sin;, that we [The ones who did the sinning] might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (II Cor.5:21) Only by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ can mankind be forgiven of their sins and be fit for Heaven.

Is there real purpose in your life?

3. WHERE AM I GOING?

a. To disappear into dust
b. To spend eternity somewhere

Though we might ignore preachers of the gospel, death is a preacher that will not be ignored for

“And as it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment… “(Heb 9:27)

Death seals a person’s eternal destiny but death is not the end of that person. They will spend eternity in one of two places; heaven or hell. Yes, there is a literal Heaven and a literal
Hell. God offers eternal life in heaven as a gift to be received by faith.

“The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal lifethrough Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom 6:23)

“For by grace are ye saved through faith;, and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God:not of works, lest
any man should boast.” (Eph. 2:8 & 9)

God desires you to be with Him for eternity. But because He is holy, He must be separate from sin and therefore he must be separate from us if we have sin to our account. Christ’s death took sin out of the way so that God can offer to every man woman and child eternal life as a free gift. But you have to actually reach out in faith to take a gift that is offered to you in order for you to own that gift.

Have you accepted God’s gift of eternal life? Are you going to heaven?

Which will be your epitaph?

“DIED WITHOUT MERCY” (Heb. 10:28) OR “DIED IN FAITH” (Heb. 11:13)
